PSL 2017 Trophy Unvieled in Dubai

HBL Pakistan Super League 2017 is all set to get started at 9th February and in one of its wonderful ceremony the PSL trophy that has been named as a ‘Spirit Trophy’ was unveiled. The ceremony was held on 6th February on Monday at the International Cricket Stadium of Dubai. The trophy was unveiled by the chairman of PSL Najam Sethi along with the captains of five teams who are going to participate in PSL second session. The coating layer of spirit trophy is made up of 50,000 fine crystals and it was designd by Swarovski. It took almost four months for designer and skilled persons to prepare this trophy and according to PCB it depicts universe’s ultimate brilliance. On this occasion, a large number of audiences including both local and worldwide media persons were present and all seemed overwhelmed by splendid Spirit trophy.

During this occasion, Najam Sethi mentioned again about his promise and explained the purpose behind arranging PSL final in Lahore. He has also shown appreciation towards franchise holders, sponsors and tournament suporters during trophy unveiling ceremony and asked cricket fans to support this tournament till its end. The managing director of Swarovski, Andrew Mojica contributed in the ceremony and told about philosphy behind design of Spirit Trophy that truly depicts the passion of Pakistan for cricket game. The brand ambassador of HBL PSL, Ramiz Raja contributed in the ceremony and greeted participating players and appreciated their interest in the tournament. During the ceremony, Pakistan’s previous captain mentioned that he is expecting this tournament to surpass the sensation of first tournament that attracted massive interest from people both inside and outside the country.

Besides PSL grand winner trophy that is a ‘Spirit Trophy’, four other PSL trophies for man-of the-tournament, wicket-keeper, best bowler and best batsman were also unveiled during the ceremony. The batsman’s trophy that was given this title after renowned batsman of Pakistan late Hanif Mohammad was unveiled first by captains of three teams. Lahore Qalandars captain Brendon McCullum, Karachi Kings team captain Kumar Sangakkara and Islamabad United team’s captain Misbah-ul-Haq unveiled PSL batsman’s trophy. This trophy is made up of crystals and looks like a cricket bat. Second PSL trophy that is a best bowler’s trophy was given its title name after Pakistan’s famous fast bowler late Fazal Mahmood. This trophy was unveiled by captain of Peshawar Zalmi team Darren Sammy. This trophy is made up of crystals and looks like a cricket ball. Third PSL trophy is best wicket-keeper’s trophy. This trophy has given its title name after very famous Pakistani wicket keeper late Imtiaz Ahmed. This trophy was unveiled by captain of Quetta Gladiators team Sarfra Ahmed. This trophy is also made up of fine crystals and seems like a wicket keeper’s golve. The last trophy that is the man-of-the-tournament trophy was unveiled by the previous captain and all- rounder of Karachi Kings’ team Shoaib Malik. This trophy is made up of beautiful crystals and shaped like a rising star.

After seeing trophy unveiling ceremony, we all can say that PSL is all set with its splendid preparations to start its second edition. All team members, ambassadors and infact a whole nation is very excited to see upcoming tournament and to see who is going to become a winner of these marvelous trophies.
