Match 11 result: Gladiators Tops Ranking Table as Lahore Qalandars failed again

PSL (Pakistan super league) is heading towards the final. The 11th match of PSL 2017 was played between Lahore Qalanders and Quetta gladiators in Sharjah. In the previous encounter, Quetta Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars.

Lahore Qalandars won the toss and felt no problem in deciding the bowling first and preferred to chase. Quetta Gladiators played with the same squad and did not include Tymal Mills yet. Quetta Gladiator’s squad include Kevin Pietersen, Rilee Rossouw, Muhammudullah and Thisara Perara as overseas players. In Qalander’s squad, Grant Elliot was replaced by Cameron Delport in 11th match of PSL. Brendon McCollum, Sunil Narine and Jason Roy were also the part of this PSL squad for 11th match.

Jason Roy and Fakhar Zaman acted as openers by Lahore Qalanders. Zaman continued the bating with good run and the combination of these two players proved that it was a great partnership and proved disastrous for the bowling line of Gladiators. This partnership was ended in a good score. They had a score of 75 runs after power play. They got 77 runs by 40 balls only.

Roy was dismissed first but his 51 runs on 27 balls added a lot in Qalander’s score. Umer Akmal joined after Roy but he was dismissed by Hassan and scored just 14 on 17 balls. Muhammad Rizwan came after Umer Akmal, but then he lost the support of Zaman soon. Fakhar Zaman scored 47 out of 31 deliveries and added a prominent score for Lahore Qalanders.

Then, the partnership of Rizwan and Delport resulted in 77 runs by just 41 balls.  Lahore Qalanders scored 200 at the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.

Saad Nasim and Ahmed Shehzad acted as openers by Gladiators. Their partnership ended In a bad way because there was no prominent score. Nasim was dismissed first and then after Nasim, Shehzad was dismissed by Muhammad Irfan. After the departure of openers, Kevin Pietersen and Rilee Rossouw took the place to bat.

Rossouw scored 33 on 18 balls, with the help of 3 sixes and 2 fours, but then he was knocked out by Irfan. To replace Kevin, Thiesara pirera came in the ground and was dismissed when the score was 89/4. Sarfraz Ahmed then joined Kevin and the game begun.

At that time, Gladiators needed about 112 runs on 67 balls. Kevin and Sarfraz well assisted each other and the score turned up in the favor of Gladiators. They scored 101 in just 45 deliveries. Kevin remained unbeaten at the end and scored about 88 runs by 42 balls. Quetta Gladiators chased the target in just 18.5 over.

Quetta Gladiators were the winners of this Match then.
