Islamabad United is Pakistan Super League’s Professional T20 franchise team. Created in Dec 2015, Islamabad United is one of the 5 franchises of Inaugural HBL Pakistan Super League 2016. Islamabad United was purchased by Venture Capital Leonine Global Sports a group of investors from UAE.  The team comprises of Twenty Players, One Director and two coaches. Islamabad United represents Pakistan’s Capital Islamabad in Pakistan Super League.

Waeem Akram who is also one of the two Brand Ambassadors of Pakistan Super League is chosen as a director of Islamabad United. He is a part of Core management team. Apart from focusing on imparting his legendary Cricketing especially bowling skills he will also be involved in the overall strategy of the team and the franchise.

Islamabad United Team management decided to recruit former Australian Cricketer and Coach Dean Jones as their coach.

Dean Jones is a classic cricketer who once made a triple century for victoria and remain their record run maker. he averaged 46 in tests and in the tied test in Madras in 1986-87 played what Bob Simpson said was the greatest innings for Australia. At the end of his innings of 210 runs he ended up in hospital on a saline drip.  He will now coach Islamabad United

The star batsman of Pakistan Cricket and captain of Pakistan’s Test Team Misbah ul Haq will represent the Islamabad United as Captain. He is initially not named for Pakistan Super League but after concerns from different cricketers over his excellent performance in domestic T20 Matches and in BPL he was included in Islamabad United and named as Captain of the team

Shane Watson is one of the most inspiring cricketers at the moment. The star Australian Cricketers is among one the 5 Icon Players of Pakistan Super League. He was selected by Islamabad United at first round of drafts for PSL. Initially news circulated about Shane Watson for being the Captain of Islamabad United, but later Misbah ul Haq was named as Captain. He is in Platinum Category of Pakistan Super League.

Islamabad United Team Consists of 16 regular Players and four Supplementary Players. Misbah ul Haq will play as Captain of Islamabad United while Brad Haddin and Sam Billings are the two wicket keepers.
